The Tools You’ll Need to Make Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs
The tools you’ll need to make easy-to-peel hard boiled eggs are just a few!Â If you are making them in the Pressure Cooker, I recommend thisÂ pressure cooker that can easily cook a dozen eggs.Â I place them on top of this steamer rack trivet that comes with manyÂ Instant Pot!
After cooking I used a slotted spoon to remove the eggs from theÂ Instant Pot and place them in an ice bath in a large stainless steel mixing bowl.
How to Cook Hard Boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot
The best way to cook easy-to-peel hard boiled eggs is to use the Instant Pot!Â I have no idea why this is, honestly.Â I’ve tried the stove-top method in various forms but have found that the Instant Pot cooks the easiest peeling eggs around!
1 – Place 12 eggs on the Pressure Cooker trivet in the Instant Pot.
2 – Add 1 cup water.
3 – Turn valve to sealing
4 – Cook eggs on Manual High Pressure for 5 minutes.
5 –Â Quick release once done.
6 – Use a slotted spoon to move eggs to large stainless steel bowl filled with an ice bath to stop cooking.

How to Peel Hard Boiled Eggs
The easiest way to peel hard boiled eggs is to soak them in an ice bath immediately upon removal from the Instant Pot.Â This immediately stops the cooking process.Â I’ve found that the faster I can get the eggs cooled down, the easier they are to peel.
In my experience, placing the bowl of ice water in the refrigerator to cook down even further is helpful to create easy-to-peel hard boiled eggs.Â I do take them out and dry them once they are cooled off.
It’s up to you whether or not you prefer to peel them all at once or as you eat them.Â I don’t personally believe this impacts the taste or shelf life of hard boiled eggs but you may want to peel them as you eat them if you are taking them with you for lunch at work.

If you’re wondering how long do hard boiled eggs keep, you’re not alone!Â I’m a huge proponent of food safety so I am always taking the conservative route when it comes to storing food.
According to Real Simple, hard boiled eggs can be stored for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.Â I’ve pushed that to a 5-6 days at times, however I definitely notice a taste and freshness difference for older eggs.

When cooking hard boiled eggs in the pressure cooker, the 5-5-5 rule is one that is often followed.Â That is five minutes to pressurize, five minutes to cook, and five minutes to release pressure.Â This method is great for hard boiled eggs cooked somewhere between soft boiled and hard boiled.
I’ve found that when using the pressure cooker I like to quick release my eggs.Â It makes sure they are just slightly less cooked but not soft in the middle.

Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs
- 12 large eggs
- 1 cup water
