I had a small bin full of mushrooms that had been in the fridge too long. Once they get slimy they are done for. So, I cut them up and froze them. Freezing mushrooms is easy. Start by washing them off. I just put them in a colander and run water over them. You may need to scrub at them a bit.

Then start slicing them to the size that your family likes. I do big slices because my son likes to pick them out. When we serve them in a soup I can make sure I serve him less.

After you have them all cut up you will want to blanch them. This will make sure that they aren’t mushy when you go to cook with them. Fill a pot halfway with water and bring it to a boil. Then, put in your mushrooms.
