Dirty Iced Chai Latte is a great Monday morning drink! Iced Chai Lattes are my favorite drink to grab at a coffee shop or to make at home. Usually the coffee shop will add a couple shots of espresso to a chai latte to make it a dirty chai. I wanted to make this as easy as possible to make at home so, in this recipe I use cold brew coffee. It really couldn’t be better in my opinion! Cold brew coffee never has that bitter taste that coffee always has and it is easy enough to make at home.
How to make a Dirty Iced Chai Latte
First of all, the cold brew coffee has to be made which takes at least 24 hours or a ready-made is just as good. I really love this brand! Cold brew coffee is less acidic and not bitter at all which makes a really smooth drink however you choose to drink it!
The chai tea can be made with 2 cups of boiling water and a tea bag. I sometimes make a half gallon jar of it to have in the fridge all week and it makes it so easy to make a latte really quickly.
Next, the coconut milk is added along with cinnamon and maple syrup for sweetening naturally. I wouldn’t use maple syrup if the flavors didn’t blend well but, in this case they do perfectly! Coconut milk is the best option for a really creamy drink and the taste is amazing!
I add all of these ingredients to a blender along with 2 cups of crushed ice and blend well.
Pour into a glass full of ice and enjoy!
What I love about chai tea
When I first drank chai it seemed way too sweet but, the spices and hint of black pepper had me intrigued from the start! One reason that I like to make chai tea at home is
I usually use chai tea bags to make life easier. But, I have made the spice blend and blended it with strong black tea. I like making the spice blend but, it does require a lot of spices. Which doesn’t seem to last long when used regularly. All of that can get expensive which is why using tea bags is really quicker and more cost effective.
