This Peppermint Tea Latte is caffeine free, naturally sweetened and brings with it the health benefits of consuming peppermint. It is warm, creamy & so fulfilling!

I also have to say that this latte is my FAVORITE warm drink. I always look forward to going to our local coffee shop because I get this drink every time. Now that I have learned how easy it is to make at home, I might be drinking this every day of the winter this year!

Health Benefits of Peppermint

Another great thing about this recipe is that is has health benefits. Peppermint tea is commonly known for:

  • helping relieve stomach and digestion issues
  • boosting energy
  • relieving headaches
  • improving mental focus
  • helping freshen bad breath
  • having antimicrobial properties

..and the list goes on! You can read more about health benefits here.

Substitutions & Notes

Below I have listed 2 ways to make this tea. One is with a regular peppermint tea bag and the other is with 1 drop of peppermint essential oil.

Plain Unsweetened Almond Milk: You can substitute any unsweetened nut or soy milk here if you would like. I think cashew milk would be a great substitution because of how creamy it is!

Peppermint Tea: Since this recipe is very simple and basic, you can substitute in other herbal tea flavors. For example, I think lavender or rose would both be great substitutions!

Peppermint Oil: Like with the tea, other herbal flavors should taste great. The catch with essential oils though is that you want to make sure you’re using oil that is safe to consume. Do your research to make sure you’re using an essential oil that is high quality and safe for your body to ingest!

If you make this drink, I would love to hear how it goes and what you think! Please comment and share pictures below! Happy cooking, friends!

Recipe type: Drinks
Serves: 1
Ingredients
  • 1½ cups Plain, Unsweetened Almond Milk*
  • 1 Peppermint Tea Bag OR 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 2 tsp Maple Syrup
Instructions
  1. Heat almond milk either in the microwave in a microwave safe container or on the stove until the almond milk is hot and at a boil. (about 2-3 minutes in microwave and about 5 minutes on the stove)
  2. If using a tea bag, let it steep in the milk while covered for 5- 7 minutes. Once finished, take the tea bag out and stir in maple syrup. IF you are using the peppermint oil, stir it in with the maple syrup.
  3. Transfer liquid to a high speed blender. Blend for about 15-20 seconds until the liquid becomes frothy. The more you blend the drink, the more frothy it will be.
  4. Transfer to mug and enjoy immediately 🙂
Notes
*If you have sweetened or vanilla flavored almond milk, you can use it! You will need to taste the drink before adding the maple syrup to make sure it is not too sweet.
